FAQ

We do not insist on a single surgery. From hair transplant to forehead reduction, we find the method that fits your condition and wishes together.

Book Consultation

01What should I prepare before consultation?

Prepare details of the change you want, current medications, and past surgeries or medical history. Photos of your usual hairstyle or past photos can help.

02Do I have to decide on surgery the day of consultation?

No. Take time to understand expected changes, limitations, risks, and costs before deciding.

03Who performs the surgery?

At BANAL, the operating surgeon is responsible from design to completion. Confirm the assigned surgeon and surgical scope during consultation.

04How long does the surgery take?

Duration varies by method, scope, graft count, and past surgical history. We provide an individualized estimate after consultation.

05What about pain and anesthesia?

We explain an anesthesia plan tailored to the procedure and individual. Pain varies by person; inform us of past anesthesia experiences and drug allergies.

06Can I return to daily life immediately?

Depends on the procedure, your job, swelling and wound healing. Discuss timelines for return to work, exercise, and wearing hats during consultation.

07When can I shampoo?

Care instructions vary by surgical site and method. Follow the timing and cleansing methods provided by the clinic.

08When are results evaluated?

Hair growth and wound healing take time. Do not judge by immediate post‑operative appearance; follow the clinician's follow‑up schedule for assessment.

09Should I stop my medications before surgery?

Do not stop medications on your own. Tell medical staff about prescriptions, supplements, and allergies so they can advise on adjustments.

10How do I check costs?

Costs vary by planned method, scope, and graft count. Call the main number or consult in person to confirm itemized costs and included care.

11Can I consult if I live abroad?

Yes. Before visiting, inform the clinic of desired consultation language and possible travel dates. Confirm interpreter availability and post‑operative care plans in advance.

12What if I have uncomfortable symptoms after surgery?

Contact the clinic using the details provided. For sudden severe pain, ongoing bleeding, breathing difficulty, or other urgent symptoms, seek emergency care immediately.

Hair Transplant

01Which is better, strip or punch?

There is no single always‑better method. We decide by evaluating occipital donor condition, graft needs, scar preference, and prior surgeries.

02Does punch mean no scars?

No. Small dot‑shaped scars may remain, and visibility varies with harvest extent and hair length.

03Can hair transplant stop hair loss progression?

Hair transplant relocates follicles. It is different from treatments that prevent progression of existing hair loss, so separate management may be necessary.

04Does crown hair loss require immediate surgery?

It depends on progression and response to medical therapy. Sometimes medical treatment is recommended before surgery.

05Can I consult about revision surgery?

Yes. We will review prior surgery details, scars, and remaining donor follicles and discuss possible improvements.

06Are graft count and follicle count the same?

They are different. A single follicular unit can produce multiple hairs, so confirm which unit is being referenced during consultation.

07Is it okay if I had surgery at another clinic?

You can consult. Bringing any records of previous surgery methods, timing, and graft counts helps evaluation.

08Is transplantation difficult if occipital hair is limited?

Donor resources may be limited. Rather than excessive harvesting, plan with long‑term donor condition in mind.

Hairline Design

01Can you make the hairline exactly as I want?

We listen to the desired shape first and then coordinate possible range by assessing facial proportions and hair condition. Not all designs are achievable.

02Can only the M‑zone be corrected?

Partial correction can be considered depending on current height, lateral width, and progression. The scope is determined through examination.

03Do you consider styles where I tie my hair?

Yes. We consider your usual ways of tying or sweeping hair and which areas are exposed in the consultation.

04Is this surgery only for women?

No. Treatment is based on hairline shape, hair loss status, and the patient's goals rather than gender.

05Will more grafts always make it more natural?

Simply increasing graft count does not guarantee naturalness. Hair thickness, placement, angles, and density distribution are important together.

06Can delicate baby hairs be made even with thick hair?

There are limits due to existing hair thickness, so achieving fine baby hair may be difficult. We explain possible changes and limits in consultation.

07Do I need forehead reduction as well?

Not everyone needs both procedures. Choice or sequencing depends on forehead height, lateral width, and scalp condition.

08Can I bring photos of the hairstyle I want?

Yes. Photos help share the desired direction. However, identical results to another person are not guaranteed.

Forehead Reduction

01How many centimeters can the forehead be reduced?

We cannot promise a fixed measurement. A safe range depends on scalp elasticity and thickness, existing hairline, and surgical history.

02Will there be no scar?

Forehead reduction involves an incision and will leave a scar. We plan to minimize visibility through incision location, tension control, suturing, and aftercare.

03Is forehead reduction better for M‑shaped hairlines?

If the concern is M‑shape or lateral width rather than height, hair transplant may be more suitable. We assess the entire hairline.

04Can hair transplant be done at the same time?

We evaluate whether both are needed and the appropriate sequence. Simultaneous procedures are not suitable in all cases.

05What if scalp elasticity is insufficient?

We avoid excessive reduction and consider other methods or limited ranges. Alternatives are explained in consultation.

06Is revision after a prior forehead reduction possible?

Possibility can be assessed, but prior scars, scalp condition, and previous techniques may limit options.

07Can sensation change after surgery?

Numbness or altered sensation around the incision can occur. Recovery patterns and durations vary by individual.

08Do you recommend surgery for every high forehead?

No. We consider not only height but hair density, scalp characteristics, desired change, and risks before recommending surgery.

Hair Loss Care

01Should I get a hair transplant as soon as hair loss starts?

Not necessarily. Identify the cause and consider non‑surgical options like medication first.

02Can anyone take hair loss medicine?

No. A clinician must assess health, sex, pregnancy potential, and concurrent medications to determine suitability.

03If a medication is ineffective, should I change it immediately?

Do not change medication on your own. Evaluate treatment duration, response, and side effects with your clinician before adjusting.

04Can I stop medication after a transplant?

You may still need to manage existing hair loss. Discuss any discontinuation with your medical team rather than stopping arbitrarily.
